Im super excited to share the cover story for the new Laud magazine featuring Kimbra!!!!

I decided to create two separate iconic Kimbra looks but take them to the next level. I created a short, wet, sleek choppy bob and also a massive long curly hairdo.  

For the softer long haired looks i attached Showpony hair extensions Human Remy A+ 7 Piece 18 and a clip in fringe in Midnight Brown. I also used the VS Sassoon Curl secret styler to add a bouncy curl!!

 

 

For the shorter style i wrapped up all of Kimbra's natural hair. I then created a new haircut by wrapping two 1m wefts in Midnight Brown around the whole head securing with the Showpony tape and cutting into a new haircut!

Recently I had the pleasure of styling the beautiful Hanalei Reiponty’s flowing locks for Black Magazine.

Our Australian team Sarah Birchley and Gemma Elaine teamed with photographer Jessica Aleece to shoot a feature on Hanalei featuring her brand of women’s wetsuits. 

To style Hanalei’s hair I began by first spraying Kevin Murphy’s hair resort spray throughout and tonging her hair into a loose S wave.  I finished with a generous amount of hair resort spray.

Recently i teamed up with Photographer Thom Kerr, stylist Marnie Skillings and Model Liv O'driscoll from IMG models to shoot this effortlessly beautiful story for Oz Beauty Expert at the picturesque Bondi beachside.

We started off our day by prepping Liv's hair which was a short pixie cut!  (see left)  with 18 inch Showpony clip in hair extensions carefully sliced into to give her length and texture.

I then applied a generous amount of Spray a Porter from Kerastase dried into the hair and then given an S wave with the Cloud Nine Irons to give the hairdo a messy tousled feel.

To finish off the hairstyle and to maintain the texture throughout the day i added more Spray a Porter whenever needed!

Pretty in Pink! Oz Beauty hair transformation.

Recently Bonnie from Oz Beauty Expert came to me looking for a change, she was bored with her hair and wanted to do something drastic and fun so we decided to go pink!!!

I transformed Bonnie’s brunette locks to pink using Olaplex and Evo Fab Pro colour.  We began by pre-lightening the lengths of the hair using Lakme K.Blonde powder mixed with Olaplex making sure not to apply to the roots as we wanted to keep them muted and natural. This was the most intense step of the colouring process, because as we all know when we lighten the hair so dramatically we compromise the health of the hair. I insisted on using Olaplex to prevent damage because we really pushed the hair hard. We pre-lightened the hair twice in a row to test Olaplex and its ability to strengthen and improve the condition of the hair. Without using Olaplex we would’nt have been able to lighten the hair enough in only one day while keeping it healthy.Once the hair had reached the level of lightness required, we rinsed and applied our customised Evo Fabuloso Pro colour.  Fabuloso Pro colours are direct pigment, ammonia free, peroxide free semi colours. This was so much fun to do! We used the concentrated red intensifier diluted to create the custom pink colour conditioner. There were so many different shades of Fabuloso Pro Colour Intensifiers to choose from it was really hard to decide exactly which shade to create as the options are literally endless!

We then styled Bonnie’s hair using some beautiful styling products from Evo. I used my favourites, Happy Campers Hard-Working Moisturiser applied to wet hair which I blow-dried and applied Icon Welder Hot Tool Shaper for heat protection and finished with Love Touch Shine Spray which smells delicious!


We couldn’t be happier with the results as you can see! It was spectacular to see such a dramatic hair change with rich and vibrant tones in only one day with the condition of the hair remaining exactly how it was before the lightening process.

Platinum Magic. New editorial out with Samantha Harris!

But in the latest edition of Black magazine, model Samantha Harris is a colour chameleon with vibrant platinum hair and a series of racy ensembles.

Unrecognisable in the ice white 'do, the luxurious wig popped against the 24-year-old Sydneysider's complexion."

I used all Kerastase product to create this hairstyle, i prepped the hair when wet using Ciment Thermique to give the hair a smooth finish while remaining light and free flowing while protecting it from heat. To finish i lightly sprayed using Laque Couture from the Couture Styling range to create a mist that would set the sleek style without making it stiff.
